About Trip

Dolpo region is a natural collection of high passes, rare fauna, and sweeping vistas which is enriched by the traditional Tibetan cultural heritage. This region is surrounded by Dhaulagiri and Tibet from south and north respectively is regarded as a blend of natural and cultural phenomena. Before 1989 this region was not open for the foreigner and was aloof from the outer world. It was declared as open for a limited number of trekkers only in 1989. But the trekkers interested in making a trekking tour in this region must go through trekking agencies in order to get the trekking permission. As this region lies on the north side of Himalaya, it is also a rain shadow area and the climatic situation of this place is the same as Mustang.

Upper Dolpo trekking is remote hidden trekking destination in Nepal where Nepal's most tranquil and natural beauty is still unexplored. Dolpo is located inside the Shy - Phoksundo National Park of mid-western Nepal, behind the Dhaulagiri massif, towards the Tibetan Plateau. Dolpo Trekking/Trekking in Dolpo region is an experience not easily forgotten. As it is in the isolated part of Nepal, there the nature seems to have remained exactly the same as it was first created- unharmed and unaltered. Undisturbed and preserved for centuries now. Blue sheep, leopards and other interesting Himalayan animals are still there in that region. A visit to the Phoksumdo Gompa ¨C dedicated to the ancient Bonpo religion, local to Dolpo and Tibet, is a memorable experience in Himalayan kingdom of Nepal. Upper Dolpo trekking is famous for deepest Lake Phoksundo in entire Himalayan Region. Mother Nature created a unique and wonderful treasurer like Dolpo, which is being the shelter of many rare alpine living beings. Trek to Dolpo has often been called the Nepal Himalaya pilgrimage trekking and hidden valley trek created by Guru Rinpoche. Upper Dolpo trek is most suitable for those who are exceptionally fit and prepared to face the full challenge of the Himalayan wilderness and well-organized camping trekking, trekking in group is recommended also special trekking permit is required which you can obtain through Government registered trekking company of Nepal.

Day 18:  Shey Gompa to Langmosya B.C via Shelamunchung pass

Day 21:  Dho to Molala phedi 

Day 22:  Rest day in Molala phedi. 

Day 23:  Molala phedi to molala pass trek to Charka B.C 

Day 24:  Charka B.C to charka pass trek to Charka village 

Day 25:  Charka village to Sandag B.C 

Day 26:  Sandag B.C to pass and trek to Winter village camp 

Day 27:  Winter village camp to Sandag 

Day 28:  Sandag to Phale Gaon
